Drug Facts

Active ingredient (in each softgel)                                               Purpose

Docusate sodium 250 mg                                                         Stool softener

Uses    œ for the prevention of dry, hard stools
œ for the relief of occasional constipation

œ generally produces a bowel movement in 12-72 hours

Warnings

Do not use for longer than 1 week, unless directed by a doctor

Ask a doctor before use if you have
œ stomach pain       œ nausea       œ vomiting

œ noticed a sudden change in bowel movements that continues over a period of 2 weeks

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are presently taking mineral oil

Stop use and ask a doctor if             œ you have rectal bleeding
œ you fail to have a bowel movement after use
These may indicate a serious condition.

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Directions
œ take softgels with a full glass of water

œ adults and children 12 years of age and older:  1 softgel daily or as directed by a doctor

œ children under 12 years of age:  ask a doctor

Other information

œ each softgel contains: sodium 13 mg

œ do not use if printed seal under cap is missing or damaged

œ store at 15‹ to 30‹C (59‹ to 86‹F).  Protect from moisture.
